What happens
The visit takes 60 to 120 minutes. Dr. L'HommeDieu watches how you get in and out of the house, the bed, the chair, the shower and the car. He asks about your day, from the first trip to the bathroom in the morning to the last lock of the door at night.
We look at three things together: you, your home and the people who help you. That is what makes this different from a checklist.
What you get
- A photo report of your home, with the concerns marked
- A prioritized list: what to fix now, within 30 days, and what to plan for
- A fall risk screening using the CDC STEADI approach, a standard fall-risk check used by clinicians
- Plain recommendations for equipment, lighting and daily routines
- A debrief call to answer your questions
Your report arrives within 48 hours of the visit. You decide what to change. If you want work done, we can write exact instructions for the contractor you choose.
Nothing about you, without you
Your home and your choices stay yours. We hold a strict “Nothing About Me…Without Me” policy: nothing gets changed, recommended or set in motion without your say. We assess, explain the options and wait for your decision.
Common questions
Should family be there?
Yes, if possible. The person who lives in the home should be present, and anyone who helps with care is welcome, in person or by phone or video.
Do you install anything?
No. We assess and recommend. You choose who does the work. This keeps our advice independent.
Can you send the report to my doctor?
Yes, with your written permission. You sign the release in our secure client portal naming your doctor, and we send the report directly. Sharing it helps your care team understand your home and your daily routines.
