For caregivers who are not family
Home care aides, companions, friends, neighbors, care managers, and guardians often see the risks first. Here is how to get the person you help an assessment.
You can start the conversation
Anyone may call us or book an Initial Consultation to talk through a concern. To go further, the person you care for, or their legal representative, needs to agree to the assessment and sign our forms. That protects them, and it protects you.
Which describes you?
Paid caregiver or agency aide
Talk with your client and your agency first. We can speak with your supervisor, and with your client's permission we will include you in the visit so the plan fits the way you actually provide care.
Friend or neighbor
Share this page with the person you help or with their family. If they want you involved, they can name you on the Release Authorization so we can share the report with you.
Care manager, guardian, or power of attorney
If you have legal authority to make decisions, you can book and sign on the person's behalf. We will ask for a copy of the document that gives you that authority.
We look at your safety too
Caregivers get hurt helping with transfers, showers, and stairs. Our assessment includes where equipment goes, how much room you have to help, and what would make each task easier on your back.
