Our independence promise. Contractors never pay to be listed. We never accept referral fees or payments in either direction. You contract with and pay your contractor directly.

These companies have not been vetted by Home Safety Solutions. They appear in public aging-in-place directories or describe aging-in-place work on their own websites. We have not checked their licenses, insurance, references, credentials, or work, and we do not recommend or endorse them. A CAPS year shown here was checked in the National Association of Home Builders directory; other CAPS listings come from third-party directories and have not been confirmed. The CAPS credential shows training, not the quality of a company's work.
If you contact one, confirm their Florida license with the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, ask for proof of liability and workers' compensation insurance, and get a written contract. Contact details come from the NAHB directory and other public listings and may be out of date. These companies have no business relationship with us and pay us nothing.

Paper screen
Florida DBPR license lookup, liability and workers' compensation certificates, CAPS status, reviews, and permit history.
Interview
Working to a clinician's written specification, response time after discharge, and itemized pricing.
References
Two past aging-in-place clients and one supplier.

A small first job, with our clinician on site at installation.
Ongoing scorecard
Every job is rated on following the spec, timeliness, fair pricing, communication, cleanliness, and verification. Two below-standard jobs in a row means removal.
Florida rules we follow
- Handymen may do small jobs only under Florida's exemption: under $2,500 in labor and materials, no permit, and outside licensed trades.
- Any electrical work, even replacing an outlet or light fixture, goes to a licensed electrician.
- Ramps, roll-in showers, and door widening need a licensed contractor and permits.
Are you a contractor?
We add partners on a rolling basis across Hillsborough, Manatee, and Pinellas counties. CAPS certification is preferred.
