In short
Dr. Russ L'HommeDieu, DPT, ATP, CFPS, a former VA Home Safety Coordinator, offers private home safety assessments for veterans and their families. If the VA offers a similar service near you, he will refer you to the VA first. Home Safety Solutions is not affiliated with the VA; a Home Safety Visit is $250 in the home around Tampa Bay or $175 by video in Florida, New York and Ohio, after a $50 phone consultation that is refunded if a VA service covers what you need.
Working with your VA care team
If you already receive VA care, keep it. We add a detailed look at your home and how you move through it, and with your permission we share the report with your VA team so everyone works from the same plan.
If the VA already offers this near you
Veterans enrolled in VA health care can schedule a free phone call to understand what the VA may provide and how to ask for it. If a similar service exists through the VA in your area, Dr. L'HommeDieu will make every attempt to refer you to the VA first, free of charge. Help with home changes
Some veterans qualify for VA help with home modifications. Your VA care team decides eligibility. We can write clear specifications and a Modification Prescription that you can share with the VA and with the contractor who does the work.
