With Membership, if your parent is hospitalized, we check the home before they come back. Quarterly visits and written updates keep you informed.
Caring from a distance
Many of our families live out of state. You can join any assessment by video, receive the report through our secure portal, and speak with Dr. L'HommeDieu directly afterward. Your parent stays in charge: they sign a Release Authorization naming you, and we share everything you need.
What if my parent does not want this?
That is common, and it is worth taking seriously. People accept help more readily when it is framed as staying independent, not as losing it. A few things that tend to work:
- Present the visit as a way to stay in the home they love.
- Let them book the Initial Consultation and talk with Dr. L'HommeDieu first.
- Promise that nothing gets changed without their say.
If you are the legal decision maker
If you hold health care power of attorney or are a court-appointed guardian, you can book and sign on your parent's behalf. Bring or upload the document, and we will note your authority on the forms.
