Home Video Walkthrough Guide
For family members preparing for a Ready for Discharge video session. Getting these things ready takes about 20 minutes and makes the session faster and more accurate.
Before the call
- Charge your phone or tablet fully and bring the charger.
- Have a tape measure, a pen, and this sheet.
- Turn on every light, and open blinds in the rooms we will visit.
- Clear a path so you can walk slowly with the camera.
- Test your video link a few minutes early from inside the home.
Measurements we will ask for

| Thresholds | Height of any raised threshold, including the slider to the lanai | |

| Bed | Floor to the top of the mattress; space on the side they get out of | |
| Toilet | Floor to the top of the seat; space on each side | |
| Tub or shower | Height of the tub wall or shower curb; any grab bars and where | |
| Chair | Seat height of the chair they use most |
The route we will follow
- Outside the front door, looking at the steps and the path from the driveway
- The path from the entry to the bedroom, at walking pace
- The bedroom and both sides of the bed
- The bathroom they will use, including the tub or shower and toilet
- The kitchen and where meals will happen
- Where equipment will go: walker, wheelchair, commode, oxygen
- Any lanai, pool deck, or garage entry they use
Filming tips
- Hold the phone sideways, and move slowly.
- Point the camera at the floor at every change: rugs, thresholds, steps.
- Put the tape measure in the picture when you read a measurement.
- If you can, have a second person hold the phone while you measure.
Sessions are not recorded. Any screenshots we take are stored only in the secure client portal.
